Senior Parliamentary Press Officer (paid)

This post is a challenging and exciting role that focuses on the Green Party's first ever parliamentary seat and helps to further the Party's national profile. As such, you will be working in two teams based partly in the parliamentary office of Caroline Lucas MP and partly in national party office, in the national party media team. With excellent communications skills, the successful candidate will have significant experience of working within a communications, press or other media environment, an excellent understanding of how the UK media work and be able to work and communicate effectively in a pressured environment. The post is for a 12 month fixed term period, with a view to extension to cover the duration of the current parliament and is full time. Salary £30,200 inc LW.

Parliamentary Assistant (paid)

Young Greens Coordinator (paid)

Are you passionate about getting young people involved in Green Politics?

The Young Greens are recruiting a new Co-ordinator. The post is 7 hours per week, to be carried out over 1 full day or 2 half days, and is based in North London at Green Party head office plus occasional travel/weekends away in the UK. You will be line managed by Young Greens' Co-Chairs and Green Party Head of Office. Salary pro rata is c.£17,500.

Young Greens is a youth organisation affiliated to the Green Party of England & Wales. We aim to harness the energy and ideas of young people to create a sustainable future which is democratic, fair and just. The membership base is currently expanding rapidly and with the Green Party's historic breakthrough in Parliament during the recent General Election there has never been a more exciting time to be involved.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and self-motivated part-time Co-ordinator to help us manage our day-to-day activities. You will be involved with a diverse range of activities to support the Young Greens Committee in furthering the objectives of the Young Greens including helping to organise events, updating our website, helping with the production of our newsletter, and updating our members.

Full training is provided - enthusiasm, motivation, and commitment for one year plus are the most important qualities we seek.

Press office volunteers (unpaid)

The Green Party’s national media team require media interns who are able to make a three day a week commitment for 3-6 months, based in either Brighton or London.

The successful applicants will be dynamic, intelligent, flexible and hard-working, with excellent verbal and written communications skills. Previous experience of media/communications work is ideal but not essential.

Some training will be given in writing for the media and in handling incoming requests from national, regional and local media outlets including print, broadcast and online. Duties will include news monitoring, writing and editing briefings, reports.

Research Volunteers (unpaid)

Volunteers are needed to work full- or part-time supporting the work of the national media team with dedicated research projects covering a wide variety of issues. Our research volunteers work flexible daytime hours, sometimes based in our office in Archway, North London (reasonable travel expenses paid, plus lunch allowance for volunteers working a full day) but in many cases working from home.

Green Party research volunteers usually work in one of two ways:

You may agree to be available on certain specific days (eg Mondays and Tuesdays each week), and will undertake research/writing tasks which may have arisen that day, in response to an urgent media team requirement. Research projects of a less urgent nature may be undertaken between more immediate tasks.

You may agree to be available for some hours during a specified period (eg committing to 8 hours a week), in which case you will undertake research/writing tasks to be completed by agreed deadlines.

Photo and video volunteers (unpaid)

From time to time, we need volunteers with skills in video and photography to support the work of the national media team.

Projects for photo volunteers might include attending events to take photographs for use on our websites or in leaflets and/or other publications, and/or editing photos for our use as above.Projects for video volunteers might include filming, editing and uploading short films and video news releases for use by the Green Party.
