CUL. Culture
CUL1. Wales Green Party believes in cultural diversity. One of the reasons we are against globalisation is because its drive for standardization stifles cultural diversity.
CUL2. Culture is largely a grassroots activity. We value arts for their spontaneity, creativity and ability to make life worth living. We want to see the promotion of Welsh and English language grassroots culture through community radio and television, community live arts schemes and Welsh medium websites.
CUL3. The National Assembly should ensure local museums and libraries are given proper support for their role in preserving historical artifacts and reinforcing knowledge of local history and culture. Where national museums are located in the south, particularly in Cardiff, attention must be made to ensure that school children from elsewhere in Wales get access to these resources.
CUL4. Corporations sponsor spectator sports for it advertising potential. We want to redirect attention towards participatory sports and activities enabling people across the country to take part whilst having fun and keeping fit.
